Your celebration is over. You are overjoyed but exhausted from months of planning. You may have received many thoughtful gifts. But last thing you want is more work – thank you notes.
We’ve got you covered with seven tips to make the process easy and fun.
-
Personalize
Use photos from your wedding for your thank you notes. The possibilities are endless. Work with The Print Cafe to create a montage with your favorite images. Perhaps you have a group shot of all the attendees that would work well. Ask your photographer for a few specific photos for this purpose as it can sometimes take time to get the entire album
-
Use a tried-and-true design
For those that are short on time, don’t want to wait for their photographer to provide images or prefer to select a design, browse our thank you card templates.
-
Quantity of thank you notes
It’s always good to have extra cards available should additional gifts come your way. After-all, guests have a year to give you something. Consider bundling your thank you notes when you have you order your invitations.
-
What to write
Find some quiet time and reflect on your relationship with the addressee and the gift they gave. And, thank them for their presence at your wedding. Don’t feel pressure to write a novel. Just be yourself.
-
Pace yourself
Common etiquette for sending thank you notes is within three months of the gifts arrival or sooner, if possible. You may have a daunting list, perhaps 100 or more notes to write. But don’t let that overwhelm you. Don’t try to do them all at once. Instead, carve out 30 minutes a few times week to craft a handful. Open a bottle of wine, put on your wedding music and let your creative juices flow. Or, take your lunch to go and sit at a park and draft a few at a time.
-
Share the effort
Most likely, many of the gifts were from your husband’s friends and family. Have him share the load and write thank you notes to his peeps.
-
