Here at the Print Café, we have the honor of working on very special projects. When we asked Charlene about the her butterfly art work, she shared this story with us. “My husband, Chad Olms, did the artwork in honor of my mother, Theresa Colby, who recently passed on June 29. He painted butterflies since many people associate them with loved ones who have died. Also, while my mom was on Pathways Hospice services, my immediate family was in the home helping to care for her. While staring out the window I asked for a sign to know she was going to be taken care of and pass peacefully. During those thoughts, a white butterfly fluttered in font of the window for a while. It wasn’t long after that that we said our final goodbye. The artwork was displayed at her Celebration of Life and used for Thank You cards. We have used The Print Cafe for printing Holiday cards with my husband’s artwork, so I knew they would do a good job with this. They were able to take the full sized painting and make smaller prints for me to use on handmade cards. My mom was an avid card maker so I wanted to use her materials and incorporate the artwork. I included a couple pictures of the final products.”
